In Inverness starten wir an diesem Morgen zu einem kurzen Besuch bei Nessie am weltbekannten "Loch Ness" um dann in nordöstlicher Richtung die kurvigen Straßen des Cairngorms National Parks unter die Räder zu nehmen.
Im Bereich des Skigebietes Lecht auf ca. 600 NN wird es wieder kurz kalt und sehr neblig. In Balmoral Castle verweilt gerade die Queen, so dass die Besichtigung nicht möglich ist.
Wir fahren weiter südlich durch den Cairngorms National Park bis zur Edradour Distillery nahe dem Ort Pitlochry, sie war lange Zeit die kleinste Whiskybrennerei Schottlands. Nach dem Bezug unseres Hotels fahren wir zur Besichtigung und Tasting zur Brennerei zurück.
This morning we start in Inverness for a short visit to Nessie's on the world-famous "Loch Ness" and then head north-east to ride the winding roads of the Cairngorms National Park.
In the area of the Lecht ski area at approx 2000 ft altitude, it gets briefly cold and very foggy again. The Queen is currently lingering in Balmoral Castle, so that a visit is not possible.
We drive further south through the Cairngorms National Park to the Edradour Distillery near the town of Pitlochry, it was the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland for a long time. After moving into our hotel, we return to the distillery for a tour and tasting.
