An unserem 8. Tourtag touren wir von unserem Hotel außerhalb von Pitlochry zunächst Richtung Norden, dann entlang des Loch Tummel durch die letzten Berge nach Stirling. Auch an diesem Tag ist Regen oft unser Begleiter.
Vor Edinburgh besuchen wir noch das Falkirk Wheel, ein modernes Schiffshebewerk nahe der schottischen Stadt Falkirk. Es hat heute überwiegend touristische und wassersportliche Bedeutung ist aber dennoch ein interessantes Bauwerk.
Nicht weit vom Hebewerk entfernt fahren wir zu "The Kelpies", zwei Pferdekopf-Skulpturen aus Stahl, die jeweils rund 30 m hoch sind.
Am frühen Abend erreichen wir dann unser Hotel in der schottischen Hauptstadt Edinburgh.
On our 8th tour day, we first tour north from our hotel outside of Pitlochry, then along Loch Tummel through the last mountains to Stirling. Rain is often our companion on this day too.
Before Edinburgh we visit the Falkirk Wheel, a modern boat lift near the Scottish city of Falkirk. Today it has predominantly touristic and water sports meaning but is nevertheless an interesting building.
Not far from the Wheel we ride to "The Kelpies", two horse head sculptures made of steel, each about 30 m high.
In the early evening we reach our hotel in the Scottish capital Edinburgh.
